Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française (DELF)

The DELF and DALF examinations are the most popular French language examinations. The examinations always consist of a written and a verbal part, whereby every part of the examination is provided by the Institut Française and are corrected anonymously.

DELF and DALF are the sole language certificates for French as a foreign language that the French Ministry of Education will accept. DELF and DALF diplomas are internationally recognised.

DELF examines basic knowledge in French; necessary to function in daily interaction. The Premier Degré is based on four parts that have different emphasis.

From 2005 regulations and certifications have to comply with the Council of Europe.

The certificate consists of four independent certifications of diverse levels.

  • DELF A1
